Marie Danielle’s abstract work is an expression of her creativity and spontaneity. After choosing a colour scheme for each piece, she works intuitively, adding different colours of oil down the board to create a series of textured forms. The artist’s passion for movement in all forms provides inspiration for fluid mark making. In some of these paintings, the marks become a written language, in others, the lines flow freely. Marie’s studio sits on the Lachine canal, a hub for spontaneous gestures and nature. This vibrant setting and Marie’s love of the outdoors come together in these large scale works that are active yet calming.
