Sara Young is a fibre artist and illustrator from Cochrane, Alberta. She is a graduate from the Fibre program at the Alberta College of Art + Design (now AU Arts). She is a needle felter and a professional weaver. She also works with assorted clays, watercolour, gouache, ink and pencil. Her work focuses primarily on the human figure and visual storytelling combining her illustration and sculptural sensibilities into her fibre art practice, merging different techniques to create a finished piece.
She creates illustrative weaving, dolls, and felted creatures, both real and imaginary. She was part of the group show Thing to Wear at the Illingworth Kerr curated by Jolie Bird.
