this piece was made to remember the Assyrian genocide. not many people have heard of the Assyrians, we come from an ancient civilization, we speak neo-Aramaic and have a rich history of creation and inventions. you may have heard of the Assyrians in your history class and might think that we are extinct but we are not. there's a huge Assyrian community in Toronto. I made this piece to bring attention to the suffering and struggle of the Assyrian people. we have been colonized, killed and kicked out of our own country for our religious beliefs.
