Though I am creating art, I am evoking an emotion. This is the mission that Venafro has adopted. 

As he moved from the first collection ‘I see through the Seasons’ (2016) to today, Bob realized he was painting from pure emotion and interpreting what he imagined, felt, or saw. Bob’s muse from his studio window is Mount Royal*. His vista is limitless as he lives on the North West side atop the mountain. This studio view greets Bob every morning and through every season. This enhances the sense of delight as the vista is limitless. He sees the Trees change every season. 
 

Venafro’s Impasto technique, thick paint contrasted by smooth backgrounds, creates for him that sense of wonderment. Painting is a two-dimensional form, yet, by painting in the Impasto technique the third dimension evolves. It is that which captures the collectors’ eye. And hopefully evokes an emotion. 

Using all the elements that nature offers, Earth – Air – Fire – Water, Bob creates his scenes. 

 

Four principles guide me: 

1 Telling a story 

I have learned we all like a great story. The story I hope will be your story. And by reaching out to you through my work you evoke your emotion, feel your story, and tell your story. 

2 Evoke an emotion 

That WOW feeling of reaching out to a collector is my challenge. I have developed a style that puts emotion above all else. In using the Impasto technique, I create scenes that pop out from a two-dimensional art form. 

3 Interpreting the inherent nature or essence of something 

When I paint, I listen to a variety of music. I admit I love classical music and is most often played. One of the collections had musical titles. Immersed in the music I can paint the story I've imagined. Most of my work comes from my vivid imagination. 'The Island Just for You' collection bears witness to that imagination. 

4 Having art accessible to those who want original art 

This is a simple principle: 

Leisure, accessible to all, is the capacity to do several things. We play for leisure, we read, meditate, look and listen, dream and wonder. A piece of art will stimulate that sense of leisure. I trust you will enjoy my art at fair prices.
