The butterfly effect are a series of paintings that explore the visual beauty of these creatures, through found creatures in our nature school, which also look to the butterflies as inspiration. The butterfly seems so careless, flitting around with apparent purposelessness and delicacy and yet in their beauty birds avoid them as food, and as many of us know they have the most ambitious focus, migrating thousands of miles, and collecting pollen and nectar to sustain their species. People also attribute the butterfly ‘s innocuous actions to having the most profound effect on the other side of the world. Hopefully from this we may be uplifted by the example of their joyful focus and beauty, but also learn that our actions have unexpected and profound repercussions. This moral and celebration of nature was the basis for this series of paintings, which are all sold save this largest original one.
