If I were to stick a label on my artistic profile, it’d be a “sleeper agent”. What makes me think of a sleeper agent is the way my artistic career was reactivated after a long period of inactivity. In the early 90s I successfully completed a four-year course in fine arts, but against all expectations, I didn’t follow the artistic path. Instead, I studied towards a PhD degree in linguistics and started a career as a lecturer in higher education. I’ve been thriving for years professionally, but a little voice in my head kept on nagging at me for abandoning art. My love for art, and especially for painting, ended up growing out of all proportion, and a life-changing event in 2019 made me change my mind. I got back to art practice. This come-back led promptly to sales worldwide and strengthened my commitment to art. 

My style is best described as a mixture of floral abstractionism and neo-impressionism. I draw inspiration from beauty in its different forms: flowers, gardens, landscapes, fabric patterns... All these subjects help me build my style. I use vibrant colors and floral forms. My paintings show different sources of inspiration: Chinese traditional painting, sumi-e, French impressionism, art deco and abstractionism. Numerous artists like Monet, Mucha, Klimt, Kandinsky and Korovin fired my imagination and shaped my vision of art. I often experiment with fluid art techniques, especially Dutch pour and swipe pour. What I like about fluid art is its unpredictability and spontaneity. It’s challenging to control the effects of fluid acrylic paints on canvas. I also combine fluid art techniques with other painting techniques. The end result of my artwork is an illusion of colorful spontaneity with a focus on lines and leafy forms.
