Biography

Kane Sumabat first dabbled with painting while briefly enrolled in a fine arts program at Toronto’s Central Tech in 1989. He discontinued his studies  to develop his career in the fitness industry but would continue to paint sporadically. In the mid-2000’s, Kane began experimenting  with oils, turning  from the acrylic medium he had been using. Artistic approach

While I consider   “traditional” artists like Lucien Freud, Caravaggio and John Sargent tremendous influences in my own style, I  also  must consider illustrators like Gil Elvgren (popular for pin up girl paintings of the 50’s) and fantasy artists Frank Frazetta as having made equal impact on  me.
