Andrea Frascione is a Canadian painter living in New Brunswick’s Acadian Peninsula. She draws much of her inspiration from the natural world around her to create her highly colorful and contemplative abstract works. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University (2003) and a Graduate Diploma in Communications Management and Public Relations from McGill University (2014). She is also certified as a Communications Management Professional (CMP) by the International Association of Business Communicators and currently works as a consultant. Andrea is a member of the Bathurst Art Society and of the Greater Caraquet Chamber of Commerce.

Born in Montreal in an urban environment, some of Andrea's paintings are influenced by graffiti culture and incorporate different textures and materials as well as layers of acrylic paint of different opacities. The juxtaposition of contrasting colors is often key to the development of her pieces, as is the deliberate stylization of brushstrokes into a linear or cross-hatched pattern, reminiscent of her early life drawing work that gained depth through the application of pattern and texture.

After more than a decade away to pursue a career in communications, Andrea has returned to her first passion - art - and aspires to create, grow and succeed as an artist, just as she has in her primary field of work. New to the Acadian Peninsula since 2020, Andrea is now more inspired by the nature around her.
