I have been a colourist since I was a young girl aged 4, colouring rainbow turkeys! I studied art in school and the great artists like Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir etc. I fell in love with Impressionism. I started painting realism in my 20s. When I lived in Mexico I liked to sit on the beach or from a higher vista, and paint what ever I saw or from my imagination. I continued to paint from the photographs I took while on vacations. Sometimes I sketched and then painted them later. I painted landscapes amalgamating the points of interest from different locations, to come up with a fictitious landscape with an eye for creativity. I took a hiatus while raising my family. I am now exploring my creative muse through the medium of acrylic painting.

I do not limit myself to landscapes. I like the challenge of trying new types of art that features people, animals and abstracts.

In my twenties I was in Mexico for a time. I was inspired by the bright, vibrant colour of Mexico’s art and culture. I continued to explore the art that captured my imagination in Cuba.
Today, I use those bold cultural and colourful memes as a starting point. I consider myself a colourist with a special interest in landscapes using an unique blend of Impressionism and realism. I like bold, bright colours that are mixed in an atypical fashion to create an overall feeling of natural organic energy. I think of colour as light. I use it to interpret the landscapes which capture my imagination. I use vibrant and bold experiments layered into my art.
