Shaelynn Tredenick is an emerging photo-based artist in Ottawa. She recently graduated from SPAO and previously from the photography program at Algonquin in 2018. Artistic approach

I create technically complex and rich imagery out of emotion and sensation, combining dried floral arrangements and scanography to create botanical still lives reminiscent of 17th-century Dutch paintings. My current project revolves around memory and connection, using botanical elements in order to relate to my mother’s history of creating backyard escapes.
