Biography

Vancouver based artist, Ruijie Ti, has been exploring abstract and surrealism oil painting for the past few years. Ruijie blended her painting with her heritage from Asia, and also the passion for nature. 

Artistic approach

As an artist for almost five years, I express myself through surreal abstract paintings. The great complexity of nature, wild and untamed as it is, is a constant source of inspiration for me. The expression of emotions that emerges from my work now means more to me than any slavish copy of reality. Whatever the medium, I use abstract language and I distort reality to bring out what is essential—emotion.
