La carrière de photojournaliste de Motty a commencé dans son lieu de naissance, Israël. Alors qu’il vivait en Israël, Motty a travaillé pour une variété de journaux et de magazines, dont Hadashot, Maariv, Haretz, et The Jerusalem Post. 
En 1989, Motty a déraciné sa famille pour s’installer au Canada. Pendant cette période, tout en se familiarisant avec son nouvel environnement et les changements personnels qui en découlent, Motty a continué à travailler en tant que photographe documentaire et d’art.
En tant que photographe et artiste, Motty a la capacité unique de capturer les émotions brutes et authentiques des moments ordinaires de la vie quotidienne. Dans le cadre de son développement artistique, Motty met l’accent sur l’exploration de l’impact du temps et de l’évolution de la culture à travers le monde. Il est particulièrement attiré par les changements culturels et la diversité qui l’entourent, y compris ceux liés à ses propres origines. De plus, Motty a travaillé avec différentes agences telles que Actra, le Festival International du Film de Toronto, le Centre de Réhabilitation Hugh MacMillan. 

Le style photographique de Motty est influencé par ses nombreuses années d’expérience en tant que photojournaliste. Il utilise un petit appareil photo, une lumière disponible et capture le sens du fugace et du candide. Il ne trouve pas nécessaire de mettre en scène, de forcer ou de fabriquer des situations lorsque la richesse de l’expérience réelle est si évidente pour son œil sensible et intuitif. Le résultat est qu’il produit des images spontanées de personnes qui sont expressives et révélatrices de leurs émotions et de leurs relations".

Motty’s career as a photojournalist began in his place of birth, Israel. While living in Israel, Motty worked for a variety of newspapers and magazines including Hadashot, Maariv, Haretz, and The Jerusalem Post. 
In 1989, Motty uprooted his family to Canada. During this time, while becoming familiarized with his new surroundings and the resultant self-changes, Motty continued to work as a documentary and fine art photographer.
As a photographer and an artist, Motty has the unique capability of capturing the raw and genuine emotions within ordinary, every-day life moments. As part of his artistic developmental journey, Motty places emphasis on exploring the impact of time and the evolution of culture throughout the world. He is particularly drawn to the cultural changes and diversity surrounding him, including those linked to his own background. The reoccurring theme across all of his work is the expression of spontaneity and the freedom to capture real-life moments. The foundation of this approach is based on Motty’s belief that there is beauty and uniqueness in every situation and life-form.

As a photographer and artist I have always striven for the time surprise of the ordinary. In my few years of artistic development, I have found myself again and again striving to explore time and culture changes all over the world. I found myself attracted to social and cultural issues; I was drawn to the cultural changes and diversity around me, particularly those linked to my own background.
