The reason why I chose to paint the New York City subway is because sometimes when I sense poverty, dirtiness, and low-vibes in society, it makes me uncomfortable and cautious. As an artist who started out being sensitive to their environment, I used to think that poverty was contagious because it would affect the way I felt about myself whenever I saw it around me. It took me years of mental and emotional conditioning to detach from it and not let it affect me very much. I hope that this painting makes a difference and we can move forward to a wealthier and healthier future. -----Français----- La raison pour laquelle j'ai choisi de peindre le métro de New York est que parfois, lorsque je ressens la pauvreté, la saleté et le manque d'ambiance dans la société, cela me met mal à l'aise et me rend prudent. En tant qu'artiste qui a commencé à être sensible à son environnement, je pensais que la pauvreté était contagieuse car elle affectait la façon dont je me sentais chaque fois que je la voyais autour de moi. Il m’a fallu des années de conditionnement mental et émotionnel pour m’en détacher et ne pas me laisser trop affecter. J’espère que ce tableau fera une différence et que nous pourrons avancer vers un avenir plus riche et plus sain.-
