Biography

Mattias Beechey is a mixed media artist working predominantly in acrylic and oil paint, as well as small-scale sculpture. Mattias was raised in North Grenville, Ontario where they are currently based. Their artwork is bold and graphic, taking inspiration from classical art and children’s folktales. Their work can be found in private collections across Canada and has been displayed in group shows in Eastern Ontario. 

Artistic approach

 Mattias frequently explores themes of self-exploration and identity through imagery of animals and the human form.
