Mabelin Castellanos (Mabela).
Je suis un artiste autodidacte vivant à Miami.
J'ai été scientifique pendant plus de 30 ans et j'en ai adoré chaque minute. En 2014, ma carrière a pris fin, j'ai eu plusieurs hospitalisations pour des problèmes mentaux et neurologiques. Ce fut une lente convalescence, et la création artistique a joué un rôle énorme dans mon processus de guérison.
Mon œuvre a eu un accueil chaleureux. Cela a rendu possible l'exposition et la vente de mon travail qui ont contribué à restaurer mon estime de moi et le début d'une nouvelle carrière d'artiste.
J'ai fait des dessins matelassés avec du tissu et du fil. Les couleurs et les motifs des pièces de tissu inspirent l'histoire que je dessine dessus.

I am a self-taught artist living in Miami. 
I was a scientist for more than 30 years and I loved every minute of it. In 2014 my career ended, I had several hospitalizations with mental and neurological issues. It was a slow recovery, and the making of art played an enormous part on my healing process. 
My artwork has had a warm reception. This has  made possible the exhibit and sale of my work which have helped to restore my self-esteem and the start of a new career as an artist.
I made quilted drawings with cloth and thread. The colors and patterns of the fabric pieces inspire the story I draw in top of them. 

Travaillant avec du fil et du tissu délicats, je brode des histoires avec le cœur. Je transforme des scénarios imaginés en vignettes qui offrent des sentiments et des questions à méditer par le spectateur.

 Working with delicate thread and cloth I stitch stories from the heart.  I quilt imagined scenarios into vignettes that offer sentiments and questions for the viewer to ponder.
