This contemporary piece is a semi-abstracted seascape, inspired by the wild and moody, unpredictable weather here in Vancouver, BC, and along the PNW coastline. I've always been in awe of stormy weather, how quickly it can change and how small it makes us, as humans, feel by comparison. Along the coast, with nothing but open water and the horizon ahead, that effect feels even more greatly amplified, as the clouds roll and billow, looming above with their ever-changing shapes and tones. This piece tries to capture that feeling, abstract but still representational. This painting is ready-to-hang, painted on 1.5" deep gallery stretched canvas, painted on the sides in a coordinating dark indigo tone, and signed/dated/titled on the back.
