Biography

JOHN FAUL is a painter and semi-retired from medicine, now living on his farm in the rural foothills of the Rocky Mountains of Canada. He holds a BFA and MFA (Visual arts) and MA (Jungian psychology) and is presently pursuing graduate studies in psychoanalysis and counselling.

Artistic approach

My work examines the ideas currently used to hoard, camouflage, lobotomize, and exploit us as persons. The whimsy and fantasy within ideas are my inspiration. With paintings, I find portholes to create a language of colour, shapes, lines, and forms. My paintings done in mixed media are expressive abstractions and active critiques of experiences within my physical body.
