Biography

 "I'm driven by the pure joy of being creative.”
Elaine has been living and creating art in the Comox Valley for over 30 years. Her creative spirit finds inspiration while out exploring the natural landscape, whether it's colours and patterns observed while kayaking, hiking or cycling or just simply walking in her neighbourhood. 

Artistic approach

I love the approach of abstract expressionism and the process for me includes setting an intention for what I'd like to say in my work. My inspiration often comes from experimenting with colour, composition and materials. I like to use glazing to allow a translucent effect to allow the viewer to get a glimpse of the many layers in my paintings.
