Biography

 Anne Mclellan works with clay to produce colorful functional and sculptural pieces. Artistic approach

 
Clay is a joyful material and it can be unpredictable.  This malleable medium is unique because it changes from one state to another when it is fired in a kiln.  You have to be constantly aware of how your environment can affect your work, moisture or dryness.  Working with clay and glazes is challenging because you are dealing with chemistry and reactive materials.  I do visual firings, preferring not to use a digital kiln.  ...Read more
