Techniques: Painting, collage, Layering, tape resist, glazing, dry brush, Materials: Professional grade Liquitex acrylic paints, Acrylic markers (White, grey, and black), Antique gold and brilliant gold metallic acrylic paint, matte medium, matte varnish, high gloss varnish, iridescent medium, Kroma crackle medium, newspaper, masking tape, construction tape. I had a conversation with Ariel to learn about who the person behind the camera really was. The four question project launched us into a variety of subjects such as music, psychology, relationships, horticulture, culinary arts, fine arts and the juxtapositions between the prejudices of her work and the person that lies beneath the surface. The project met Ariel during a time of major changes in her life, and was to opportune moment to create an art piece that highlighted her humanity. The product is a portrait of the past, present and future of Ariel, represented by contrasting elements that focus on the public perception VS the person that I discovered through The Four Question Project.
