Biography

Painter, printmaker, bookbinder, publisher. Studied printmaking at Concordia University, 2011-2016. Graphic designer for publishers in Montreal since 2001, while painting throughout. Studied at Académie des Arts (Montréal), 1983-6. Started my own press, Corner Studio, in 2020 - publishing and visual arts. www.cornerstudio.org

Artistic approach

I love woods and lakes, meadows and changing skies, and am drawn to the challenge of capturing what connects me in the natural world in paint, etchings, collagraphy. Our family has had cottages at a Laurentian Lake for 5 generations, I grew up with no road, electricity, or phone. It was always a step away, to head to the lake for the summer, where the weather and the lake were key to the day’s unfolding. Since the 70s I have been aware of how fine a balance our natural world resides, how easily it can be tipped the wrong way. We are a 74% water-based community, and have had issues lately with illegal roads being put in through crown land.... Read more
