Ripon is an amateur artist based in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. His journey in art began in Bangladesh, where he received national recognition early in his life. In 2002, he won the National Award in the Pencil Sketch and Watercolor category at a competition organized by the Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka.

Artistic approach

Ripon’s influences come from everything he sees, feels, and experiences. His artistic curiosity was shaped early by comic books, especially the works of Harvey Pekar and Robert Crumb. He also has a deep appreciation for architecture, with a particular fondness for the elegance and geometry of Art Deco.
