Biography

Christine A. Allan is originally from the prairie province of Manitoba, moved to the West Coast of Canada in the 60’s and has lived in a number of small communities in British Columbia, including a remote Native Community on the West Coast of Canada. Here she had the privilege of learning the basics of First Nations art with Nuu-chah-nulth artist and teacher George John.

Artistic approach

I am intrigued by the idea of how art can overcome the incommunicable aspects of our lives, but I am also interested in perspectives and the viewer’s reaction to my art. I like to know what they see, what their emotional response is, what their perspective is.
